Deborah was raised around the courtroom. Not only does she have extensive experience as both a judge and an attorney, but she was able to follow in the footsteps of accomplished lawyers and judges. Her grandfather, Harold Bledsoe, was the first black Assistant Attorney General in Wayne County; her mother Geraldine Bledsoe Ford was the first black woman to be elected as a judge in the country. She looks to continue their legacy through her own legal work.
